Well, we had a truly wonderful Christmas and the past few days have been relaxing and fun. The children received a Wii and it's been getting a lot of use the past few days. I've even joined in the fun, you're shocked, I know it's hard to believe. Little old me, who can barely operate a joystick or any other electronic device. I've bowled(I totally rocked!!) I played tennis....or rather I tried to play tennis and was soundly beaten by my ten year old daughter. I also played Super Mario 8....this was also hard for me, but I'm learning. The games are a lot of fun and they are geared for families to play together and the kids loved beating me at the games.
We went skiing two days ago and the weather was great, not too cold. It's always a little nerve wracking to get back on the hills after not skiing for eight months, but we all survived...no broken bones, woohoo! The kids really love skiing and it was fun riding the chair lift with GirlChild and just chat and hang out. BoyChild really loved being able to ski and kept trying to convince me to join the rest of the family on the more difficult hills...I did ski one of the black diamond hills once, but that was enough for me. Other than a few hills, we all skied together and it was so great to enjoy the day together. The one and only reason I keep on skiing is because my children and husband love it so much, I would much rather be in the chalet drinking hot chocolate reading a good book, but the exercise is good for me as is getting to spend time with my family doing something they truly love, what more could I ask for?
We've also been able to do a lot of cleaning...I know that sounds really boring, but the children's playroom was getting really crowded and full of toys that are no longer being used. So it felt great to fill up the garbage bags and also to send toys to friends and relatives. The kids were great, they didn't put up a fuss about sending toys away and were really helpful.
We also cleaned out GirlChild's room...she is the ultimate pack rat, it filled two garbage bags, mostly papers and artwork. I do have a memory box that I use to keep her stories, schoolwork and artwork and we let her start her own memory box with things she wanted to save, thankfully, she didnt' feel the need to fill the box completely.
We're hosting a party in a few days so I've been trying to get organized with making lists and shopping. I'm going to make some kimbop, which I hope most people will enjoy. It's going to be a "grown-ups only" party, which is a first for us since the kids were born. Whenever we entertain our kids are always around and since most of our friends also have kids they come along too. The kids will be staying at their grandparents' house, which is always fun for them. I'm excited about this party and hope it goes well.
Well, off to play some Wii, wish me luck!

Glad to hear you had a nice Christmas. I played with my nephews' Wii, and it was surprisingly fun.
I hope you enjoy your grownup party.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
A Wii! You lucky girl! Hubby keeps saying he'll get me one if I want but I know I'd have zero time to play it.
Have fun at your party... and eat extra kimbop for me!
Oooh... so jealous. I totally want a Wii!
Hope your party was/is wonderful!
The Wii sounds great. I'm glad you got so much family time over the holidays and got to relax and have fun.
If my kids end up liking to ski, I'll be just like you. I'll go with them, but secretly I'll be wishing I was in the lodge with a hot drink!
