Happy Holidays

It's been really busy lately. I took the children to see The Nutcracker ballet a few weeks ago. It's a truly magical show and it's a holiday family tradition. I've taken GirlChild to this ballet since she was four, so it was her seventh time seeing the show and she loved it as much as her first visit. It was BoyChild's second time....let's just say next year he and I will find some other show to attend. He was great last year, sat through the whole show and only needed a few candy bribes to sit still. This year....he was squirmy and rather bored.

We did some holiday baking last weekend. For the last few years the children have given their teachers home baked chocolate chip cookies and we also make donations in their teacher's names to a local children's hospital. The teachers have all expressed their gratitude at receiving this gift in their honor...so much better than mugs or chocolates.

And now, woohoo! I'm off work for the next two weeks. The university where I work, it shuts down for two weeks during Christmas...I don't even have to use any vacation days, it's one of the job perks, I know...lucky me!

We'll be spending tonight with M's family and then drive home. And then tomorrow afternoon we'll go to my parents and spend Christmas Day with them. So it's a bit hectic for the next 48 hours but after that....we can relax, play with the kids, hopefully do some skiing and go see some movies. Anyone seen anything good? A few friends have told me that I have to see Enchanted. I was also wondering about Water Horse Legend of the Deep, the trailers looked good.

I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, hope you get all you want under the tree. Peace to all.
